"Over the years I have had the good fortune to experience Dr. Stoddard present on multiple occasions, across many varied topics. In each presentation, Dr. Stoddard has shown up as a genuine and authentic individual with whom the audience can connect. Following that connection the audience is able to consider and reflect upon the material being presented, considering ways they might use this perspective to shift their activity as they leave the presentation. A presentation by Dr. Stoddard is a special treat!"

"I had the pleasure of co-presenting a seminar with Dr. Stoddard. We discussed the topic of COVID-19 Related Anxiety vs OCD. She was a clear Subject Matter Expert. Her conversational style also allowed the participants (both interested people in the community, as well as mental health professionals) to understand the information and ask insightful and informed questions. It was a real pleasure presenting with her."

"I have known Jill for a long time, and I've had the pleasure of hearing her speak many times. Although she and I share a common professional background, I always learn something from her talks. More than that, though, I watch her weave expertly from academic and theoretical topics to personal growth exercises, engaging her audiences with compelling stories, validation, and humor. I have asked her to guest lecture for my classes many times because she is one of my top-rated speakers and because I get a front row seat to her wonderful presentations. Audiences leave her talks inspired by Jill's own curiosity and excited to try the empirically based interventions she has honed and written about after years of study. Jill has expertise in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), clinical metaphors, empowerment, and the treatment of anxiety disorders, but her teaching and training conveys something greater than these topics. I highly recommend her and I hope that you have a chance to learn from her soon."

"I have had the good fortune of serving on dissertation committees with Dr. Stoddard and in my role as clinical supervisor I've had many interns who sang her praises during supervision. I had the pleasure of assisting an intern and a postdoc in developing a pain management manual using ACT that was adapted from a manual by Dr. Stoddard. It was a major endeavor and she graciously offered her time and feedback. In reading her manual and The Big Book of ACT Metaphors, which she coauthored, my respect for her grew stronger. I was, therefore, beyond enthusiastic when she agreed to speak to our Psychology Department about ACT. It was an opportunity for me and our cohort of interns, trainees, and postdocs to learn firsthand from a true master. Her speaking style was accessible to even the newest members of the cohort and her presentation was filled with metaphors, examples of evidence based interventions, and materials and concepts that we were able to put into use. More importantly, she inspired us all to learn more about ACT and employ ACT as part of our inpatient and outpatient curricula. I highly recommend Dr. Stoddard for speaking engagements and as a therapist. She is warm, engaging, genuine, and extremely competent."

Dr. Stoddard is the absolute best! We recently invited her to lecture to our group of judges and lawyers on how we can all take better care of our mental and emotional health during these uncertain times – and wow, did she deliver. The tools she provided for dealing with anxiety and stress in both our professional and personal lives was very functional and useful to everyone present. Additionally, Dr. Stoddard really offered some great perspective to our group that helped us reframe anxiety and stress, and acknowledge and accept these emotions for the benefits they offer in our daily lives, and not just the hardships. So grateful to Dr. Stoddard, and really looking forward to the next opportunity to sit in on one of her lectures!!

Dr. Stoddard is an outstanding clinician and educator with years of experience leading to great wisdom about mental health. Her presentations are always engaging, dynamic and interactive. She taught a group of UC San Diego medical students in my summer program about pediatric anxiety. She spent time customizing the material and created a presentation that was practical and incredibly helpful to the group. Working with her throughout the process was enjoyable and fun! The community of San Diego is lucky to have Dr. Stoddard as an expert resource and leader. The team she has built at Center for Stress and Anxiety Management is a group of skilled and compassionate clinicians.

Dr. Stoddard’s TEDx Talk was so inspiring and relevant in the majority of our lives. She did a wonderful job at explaining how people utilize goal achievement to measure success when in reality goals are outcomes and we have no control over our outcomes. She also demonstrated the importance of our values and how they can help us reach for success. Dr. Stoddard utilized a variety of examples; I enjoyed the personal example she used as I thought it was extremely helpful in order to understand the message she was trying to convey. This was a great way to connect with her audience. Throughout the talk I was able to reflect on my own experience; being a graduate student, I tend to measure success by the goals I accomplish when in reality this creates a ton of anxiety. Dr. Stoddard’s delivery was clear, concise, and engaging. I enjoyed the part where she said “go grab a pen or pencil.”
